Attention everyone living in the State's of FLORIDA,ALABAMA,MISSISSIPPI and LOUISIANA. Please contact your U.S.House of Representative member, both U.S.Senators and your State Governor ask them why the Sunset Limited train 1 and 2 continues to be canceled out right between New Orleans,LA and Orlando,FL by Amtrak one year after Hurricane Katrina. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES! The rail route has been fully restored by CSX and is in better shape now than before Hurricane Katrina. If Amtrak does not want operate this route east of New Orleans,180 day abolishment notices should be posted in accordance under "HR2247,Amtrak Reform and Privatization act of 1997". This law sets the guidelines for abolishment of Amtrak routes. Why isn't the Sunset Limited operating on it's full route? People living in other States should also contact their elected Government officials and ask the same questions.Amtrak must not be given a blank check to discontinue any train route anywhere in the country without first giving the people a chance to speak out for or against such abolishment's.
